Board Positions


Would you like to really get involved with your PTO? Why not serve on the Board? Board members serve a one or two year term, and are crucial to the operations of the PTO. It's a great way to meet people, be a part of positive change at our school, and have fun!

Board Positions for this school year are filled. Please join us at our January Meeting to hear about our open positions for the next school year. If you are interested, review the position details and please let us know by filling out the following form below.

President (or Co-Presidents)

  • Presides at all meetings of the PTO and of the Executive Board

  • Is a member ex-officio of all committees

  • Has control of all official documents belonging to the PTO

  • Performs all duties pertaining to the office in order that the objectives of the PTO may be achieved

  • Represents (themselves or via representative) the PTO at all district meetings and Principal’s meetings to which the President is invited to attend

Vice President-Events

  • Plan and coordinate all PTO sponsored events and present a yearly calendar of PTO sponsored events to the Executive Board in August.

  • Assist the President and carry out the President’s duties in his or her absence or inability to serve.

Vice President-Communications

  • Responsible for the development and supervision of any paper or online communications between the PTO, parents and school staff including, but not limited to, PTO Facebook page, PTO web site, event flyers (review only), school newsletter information (submitted weekly), and the PTO e-newsletter.

Treasurer

  • Custodian of all funds of the PTO, making all deposits to the appropriate financial institution and writing checks for all approved PTO expenses

  • Maintains an accurate record of receipts and expenditures and is to prepare and submit a financial report each month at the PTO meeting

  • Prepares and presents the budget to the PTO in the September meeting for approval and must maintain and report at least twice during the year (November & April) an accurate statement illustrating both actual and budgeted amounts

  • Works with all Committee Chairpersons to ensure all financial documentation and financial transactions are done in a timely manner

  • Produces a final budget report ready for auditing by June 30 of each year

Secretary

  • Keeps a permanent record of all meetings by taking minutes for the PTO and Executive Board and upon approval of same by the PTO, posts them on the District website prior to the next PTO meeting

  • Prepares the agenda, handles correspondence and sends notices of meetings to the membership

  • Assists the school office with the organization, preparation and distribution of the student directory (our understanding is that the directory will be a district-wide, online directory, starting in 2020-2021)

Fundraising Coordinator

  • Researches and coordinates all fundraising activities and shall support all Committee Chairpersons that deal with fundraising activities.

Volunteer Coordinator

  • Leads effort to identify chairpersons for all PTO events and fundraisers

  • Coordinates volunteers, as needed, for PTO events and fundraisers

  • Creates volunteer sign ups using SignUpGenius.com, and distributes to PTO email distribution list
